Here's what the AE has found. One station has Avid MC 8.3.1 and we installed the latest Sony 3.41 ama plugin and the footage worked. It seems these later ama plugins that are compatible with the camera but these ama plugin are only for Avid Ver. 7 and above. Can anyone confirm there is no way to make the F7 version ama link in Avid 6.5.4? All our research points in that direction but it would be great given the rest of the facility is on 6.5.4 to not have to upgrade them but be able to access the footage if possible. Of course once the AE transcodes to offline media the rest of the stations will be able to access that but it would be better to not start running differing versions unless absolutely necessary. Here's a post from a while back somewhat related but I don't see in mentioning the FS7 specifically as a camera involved.

Our AEs have some Sony F7 footage that they can't seem to ama link to. They are on Ver 6.5.4 mac Avid MC. Is there an ama plugin for this media that will work on this version of Avid? They say the file structure has an XDRoot like XDCam. TIAJohn Moore Barking Trout Productions Studio City, CA bigfish@...
