Well that would seem like a cluster flop waiting to happen. I've always assumed once something is qualified all later versions will have the same qualifications. Of course if the OS has changed for a later point release that's another story. I will have to check and see what version of 10.9 I installed and exactly which version of 6.5.4.X I had cloned over.

The download center is down right at this moment, so I cannot download the readme for the most current version of 6.5.4, but the document I quoted above specifically says that some of those patches are for specific versions of OS only. Just because you are running a newer version doesn't necessarily mean it works with 10.9.
