I think the problem that some have is when they use Mouse Mode. I must admit that I'm one of those barbarians. Performance can be spotty, depending on the driver. I'm using 6.3.10w2 right now and it's OK.

I have been using Wacom tablets since the 90s. And they work fine with W7 and 8.4.2. Once you turn off that stupid cursor circle:
