I see this all he time but today I found an example of how a 3D warp effect takes an otherwise legal shot and creates illegal overshoots when used to scale an image. In this case the shot is blown up 10% with a scale value of 110x110. The two waveform grabs show the difference. I'm in low pass but obviously flat would also show the change but it is more obvious in low pass.
First Grab stepped in to the actual color corrected shot.
2nd Grab is stepped out looking at the 3d Warp effect on the shot.
Note the over shoots which then trigger the alarms. A safe color limit will handle these but I see this all the time. Is this an indication of a poor scaling done by the 3D warp. I see this is other effects with scaling but usually it's a 3D warp. I wonder if one of the console commands to set higher quality effects processing would change this behavior. Nothing new with this I've seen it for as long as I've been paying attention to the Tek scope alarms. Curious what others think.
