I think you can only work on one at a time – I think it is covered here.

can you not install redcine x https://www.red.com/downloads/5340c33e26465a4b46002ddc on the lappie or even (if it is up to date, which I am not sure it is) Avid Metafuze ?

Right. But to be clear, I want to be able to work on both computers at the same time. In other words, while I'm cutting on system, the other computer is doing a transcode. And I can't do a transcode in the background of the project I'm working on, because these are two completely different projects.
So I have my subscription MC installed on two computers, but can only work in one at a time…? Is that the way it is?

You should be able to register an uninstall on one computer and reinstall on another. I think as long as you register the uninstall. We were doing this for a while switching between Mac and PC.
