Re: [Avid-L2] Re: Two Computers on One Subscription?

Try setting up some Dynamic Media Folders on your laptop for the transcodes.  You don't have to have Media Composer running for them to work, which makes me think they aren't locked to the software being activated.  Worth a test.

As far as I know
Install Media Composer on as many computers as you want for location convenience. however if node locked you can only use 1 at a time. You must deactivate the use on one computer before you can begin use on another.  If you do not have a license that is based on volume or site this is how it works. 2 computers=2 licenses.

I think that is it.

Right. But to be clear, I want to be able to work on both computers at the same time. In other words, while I'm cutting on system, the other computer is doing a transcode. And I can't do a transcode in the background of the project I'm working on, because these are two completely different projects.

So I have my subscription MC installed on two computers, but can only work in one at a time…? Is that the way it is?

You should be able to register an uninstall on one computer and reinstall on another.  I think as long as you register the uninstall.  We were doing this for a while switching between Mac and PC.
