I don't have an answer for you, but I have a question:
If you shot XDCAM, why don't you just export XDCAM, which would preserve the quality of the original footage? Transcoding to DNxHD 145 won't gain quality and in theory would actually degrade your image; you'll also end up with a much larger file size. So why do it?

Hey Guys,
I am trying to export a sequence to DNX-145.The source footage was shot on XDCAM-HD. I use a submaster (DNX-145) before exporting. The problem is that I need to add black to the beginning of the sequence to
keep the submaster from changing back to XDCAM-HD. Does anyone know what I need to do so I don't have to add black to the beginning of my sequence each time I export? Any input is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Chris
