The best method to export a ProRes QT file from Media Composer is to perform a video mixdown to the desired ProRes codec and export a Same as Source QT File.
This will be the fastest and highest quality export and doesn't require the ProRes Encoder Codecs to be installed.
All bets are off if you select Custom and Format options.
