Upgrading the SSD to 10.8.5 and Avid now boots properly. I see several others that have had this issue on mac and PC from what I've read. What is it about an SSD boot drive that would cause this error? I'm not sure how well my Unity compatibility will be with 10.8.5. I access our old medianet 5s through ethernet which he told me I can still run 5.3.3 connection manager so I should be okay. I'm surprised I hadn't heard more about this SSD issue. Perhaps I just didn't notice until I got bit today.
