Re: [Avid-L2] MC Hardware & Monitor Config With 27" 5K Retina iMac

As far as I know, thunderbolt is daisy-chainable.  The cinema display can act as a dock of sorts.  You can do imac > cinema display > harddrives.

Here's the question…

A 27" 5K Retina Screen iMac. Loaded to bear. Maxed out processor, RAM, graphics card, et al. Two Thunderbolt ports on it. Several USB3 ports. NO HDMI PORT.

One of the Thunderbolt ports is used by a 27" Cinema Display as a second monitor. And the other Thunderbolt port is dedicated to external drives. But the goal is to then hook up a third monitor, such as a plasma screen or projector, as a client monitor sort of situation. So…

… is anyone aware of any additional hardware, hubs, configurations, etc., that might make the addition of this third (client) monitor possible? And, if so, can MC 8.x even accommodate this additional video output?

Grossly irresponsible speculation is welcome.

Thanks,

DD
