I haven't used it much but isn't avid connect just an avx plugin that takes care of all the round tripping to fusion for you?
Seems like opening a window to get access to primatte etc is a small price to pay.
In avid I always loved zBig for keying but I'm guessing that didn't make the leap to 64bit.

While you make a good point Mike, having to go outs to another application with the media round-tripping every time you want to do something sucks.
