John
sorry if it was a bit confusing. The We is root6. We are both the UK reseller for R&S (so I am biased in favour of Venice and suggested you check it out in the same space as Cinedeck) and we are also the manufacturers of ContentAgent (www.root6technology.com) which is the thing that can do insert edits on an AS11 DPP compliant file (that was created on the ContentAgent).
So, to be clear; we *sell* R&S Venice and we *make* ContentAgent.
I guess you didn't swing by the booth to check it out; too bad. If you would like to see it Keycode can arrange a demo for you.

Insert editing into an AS11 file isn't the same thing Cine Deck is doing as far as I was told, and I asked about AS 11 specifically. Isn't the abilty of versioning, which is sort of like insert editing, the idea behind AS 11? When you make an insert into an AS 11 isn't it adding pointers to the new section of the insert just like there can be pointers to and alternate end sequence or other things that allow customized versioning in the format. I haven't dealt with AS 11 directly so I may not understand it's structure or intended functionality.
