RE: [Avid-L2] AMA Workflow and Consolidate / Transcode

put the sequence in a bin on it's own > show the reference clips > give them a reel number or tape ID or disk label and make sure the ama clips have the same reel/tape/disk info.  Highlight the AMA clips and select the sequence you wish to relink > right click and choose relink > relink by selected items in all open bins and choose start tc and either disk/tapeID or whatever you have given the reference clips.  That should do it.

Subject: [Avid-L2] AMA Workflow and Consolidate / Transcode

Typically, I will AMA link to footage inside the P2 folders on an
attached hard drive, name and sort the clips, and then transcode the
clips first to a DNx resolution, then to SD 20:1 resolution for offline
multicam editing. When the cut is locked, I simply relink to the DNx and
all is well.

Sometimes, there is so much raw footage, or the edited piece so short,
that I will edit with the AMA clips, then transcode the sequence to a
DNx res. In a particular sequence, I did this, and the DNx clips were
accidentally deleted. Is there a way to relink the offline subclips to
the online AMA master clips?

I believe what I should do in the future is to first consolidate the
sequence made from the AMA clips, then transcode the consolidated AMA
media. That way, if the transcoded media goes offline, I will have AMA
clips that will relink.

Thanks for advice and workflow suggestions.
