As mentioned, and as confirmed by AJA, the audio/video sync problem is embedded in the HD-SDI and HDMI outputs. And my tests have proven this fact.
Therefore, there is nothing to be gained by monitoring the de-embedded audio stream -- because it is no different from using the dedicated unbalanced audio outputs of the AJA interface itself.
