I've experienced the same problem using the dropper to match colours in paint or the title tool in MC 7.03 on a MacBook Pro running Mountain Lion. I only discovered it this week as I rarely use MC on my laptop. At work, my Symphony is 7.03 on Windows 7, and a Smoke on Mac (Mountain Lion) with no such colour dropper issues. I'm amazed an Avid on Mac problem this bad, that has been around for a couple of years has not been fixed.
