No solution for the bug, but I just tested my render engine to create a
QuickTime with alpha, containing subs.
This file has stretched frames, so the file size is ridiuolous small.
It works just fine with AMA import in 8.3 (Not sure what version of Avid got
AMA with alpha), only thing to do is to reverse the alpha in the effect
settings.
So if you got bitten by the SubCap bug, and you have a one-off project, i'm
more than happy to generate a working file for you.
