Maybe you should institute a policy that you can use any font you want as long as it's Helvetica.
As to your question...as long as they are the same type font (true type, open type, post script) it probably won't make a difference on Mac.

Now that that is out of the way if I'm given a font to use in an After Effects project and I install it on a computer I don't know has this font or not will there be any issue with doubled up fonts and Avid and or After Effects. I know I've been prompted on macs at random times about deleting or quarantining redundant or duplicate fonts, it might even be a prompt to make them inactive I forget exactly when it happened but I'd bet I was in Font Book when I got the prompt. Anyways if I double install a font is there any negative impact other than a little disk space?
