I don't use it for remote editing, but I do hear audio remotely through LogMeIn. I use it to check QT video clips (with audio) between my client MacPro (1,1) and my MacBookPro over my home network (it's too complicated to explain 'why' I do this; just accept that audio works Mac-to-Mac over LogMeIn).
