For all Avid editing applications, log in as an OS user with administrative privileges and launch the installer.  After installation and after the required system reboot, you need to run the application as a user with administrative privileges. If you are working in a shared storage environment, mount your workspaces. You can then run the Avid Editing Application as a standard user.


Really a good idea for everyone to at least scan the documentation so they know and it isn't a crap shoot....

I don't know why your friend wouldn't do that when they have such an important system to run.
