Re: [Avid-L2] Tick Tock... Tick Tock.....

Everyone who has a MC license is offered this support/upgrade option as the old release purchases are gone.  We have combined them with support.  So if you have MC 8.x you can

1. Buy the support/upgrade plan for your perpetual license by the end of Dec 2014 for $299 /per license and get a year of releases and support.

2. Decide to migrate your perpetual license to a Subscription model. An annual subscription provides upgrades support for one (1) year and is available for $39.99 USD per month for the first year ( $39.99 x 12).  When you subscribe, you must update your software and license to the latest version which would be MC 8.2 today.   As new upgrades become available, you can choose to either accept the upgrade or not at any time during the term of the Subscription.  When the subscription year expires, you must renew your annual subscription at the regular list price ($49.99 USD per month - $49.99 x 12)) in order to continue to run your software and receive updates and support.    If you choose not to renew your subscription, you will no longer be able to run your Media Composer | Software.

3.  Decide not to buy the support/upgrade plan or decide not to migrate to subscription.... you license will remain at the last version you have.  So if you have MC 7 now and decide NOT to forge ahead, you license remains at MC 7 forever.  If you have MC 8.x now, then it would remain at the last MC 8.x version you upgraded to before Jan 1 2015.  In this case, if you wanted to upgrade your original license say in the middle of 2015, you could not and would have to buy a new license for $1299 which would be a MC  license plus a support/upgrade plan for 1 year.

happy to answer any and all questions....

Marianna
