Isn't this support comparable to Adobe CC subscription? Not that I like the idea of subscription but I guess it's just an upgrade of another color. Pay not attention to out dated editor behind the curtain!!!

Not for me. I will be staying on MC7 until it cannot be run and then it's gone. I hate the feeling of "you better upgrade now or it will cost you more later". Of course, MM did not make that policy and is just the messenger and for some folks, this $300 a year is worth it. But for folks like me, it probably kills Avid as a tool in the toolbox. But hey, I am just one of the "little guys"...! ;-)
I realize this is a finance department idea that will stabilize the revenue stream, but I will be interested if Avid will see growth with this policy.
