This I like to know, too. I did a test a few months ago:
The sequence was created correctly by dragging the source clip onto the
make new icon (XDCAM HD footage).
Then I exported with "Match Sequence Settings" checked in AME - all
"options" are greyed out then.
Result: Media Info showed different values and the footage looked not
like the original.
I think I'm missing something simple...
