Nexidia was already licensing their technology to others. It doesn't appear that Avid had an exclusive license. In that case, why *wouldn't* Nexidia license to Avid, regardless of market share? A small slice of the pie is still more pie!


I see that Nexidia's VP of Sales is a former Avid employee. Why not communicate some of your concerns to that person?

If you are Nexidia, would you want to be held in an exclusive rights deal with Avid?  A company that has an important but stagnant or shrinking market-share?  Perhaps this is not an Avid sticking point but from the Nexidia side?
