Re: [Avid-L2] Large single monitor mode dead

Hey Terry,

Yes, I miss this as well. Like many of the other changes to the interface, I don't understand the reasoning for dropping these kinds of features.

As a work around, what I'm doing is just dragging and resize the Record/Source Monitor to the left so that it's only the Record monitor. And then saving that as part of my Effects Workspace.  But, from what I remember, I don't think that doing the Record Monitor this way makes the monitor as big as the Single Monitor Mode did. But I can at least get both the Effect Palette and the Effects Editor on the same display, along with the Record Monitor.

But, I'd still like to see large Monitor Mode, along with some of the other interface options that have been removed, return in a future release.

Since I started using MC back in the 90s holding OPT / ALT + clicking on edit or effects mode gave you one single large record monitor instead of the two monitor setup. I use this feature constantly in effects mode to handle fine detail operations like animatte, dead pixel fixing, blurring faces, etc. It stopped working somewhere back in 7 and I have been trying to get it fixed. Today I discovered it was intentionally dropped as a feature with no plan to reinstate it.

I can't be the only one needs this mode. I'm hoping those of you who use this mode will chime in here in the hopes we can get this necessary functionality back.
