I'm one of those "kids" and the first time I saw the customization features (in MC4), I thought, "this is the ugliest piece of software I've ever seen" (hyperbole). I'm all for customization, but at least make the choices look good. Even the current iteration doesn't look that great compared to FCPX, PPro, Lightworks, Smac, Resolve, Scratch, Maya, Mocha, Nuke, zBrush, Photoshop, etc., etc. The only interfaces I've seen that look worse than MC are Piranha and DS. I'll bet anything that DS would have lasted a little longer if they modernized the UI beyond the Windows 95 era.

It was an ill advised decision, and should be rectified.
It's was actually one of the strengths/selling points of the system.

If someone is happier and more productive with a Pink or Blue Interface,
who cares?!! They bought and use the software . . . all . . . day . . . long.

And I'll add that MC is recognizable no matter the colors of the UI.

And I'll add another: OK, never mind the fogies like me, that have been using MC/FC since '94 (and many of you even earlier!),
the "kids" will love it . . . and they are the future of the company.

Now, back to wishing that drag and drop editing was fully baked,
and that we could turn off Auto Keyframing . . . etc.
