Is there no settings file that you could import to a new project? I guess that wouldn't make sense as each project has it's own set of different bins. In online I set up my projects with the same bin structure for each show in a series. They are new bins for each episode/project but they have similar nomenclature with only the episode number changing. Would that allow for bin layout to work across projects? As it is I always preposition my bins when I create the project so I know where they will open.

I guess it appears in different positions depending on the monitor configuration. The Bin Layout feature is basically a crock of s*** as it has to be created from scratch for each new project and manually updated every time you add or rename a bin. Bring back the Superbin or as others have said, something like the FCP7 or PPro setup - folders in a window with the choice of individual bin windows if desired.

Very helpful, thanks. This helps me address another issue that was driving me crazy, but it doesn't address the "New Bin" problem.Version 6 and above has the ability to save bin layouts. Look in your Windows menu.
Every new bin I create appears UNDER the upper right corner of the project window sized so small that I can't see it. I have to double click the New Bin in the project window to bring it forward. Move it. Rename It. Resize it. And select a view.Really?! Is this just me?Cheers, todTod Hopkins
