We have seen vertical banding when Arri files are AMA'd and transcoded in 6.5.4 and 7.0.3 as well as audio problems. Importing to 6.5.4 seems to work fine. No action so far from Avid…

Subject: Re: [Avid-L2] can i transcode 2k to 1080?
Just to let you know, I've had problems transcoding Alexa ProRes 4444 Files with 7.0.3 and 7.0.4. (I've already reported the bug)
Transcode with those versions in a qualified Z820 were extremely slow.
Transcode times were fine after downgrading to 7.0.2.
Hope this help.
Regards.

Just a quick note: for 2K ProRes files from Alexa you do NOT need any other AMA plugins other that what comes pre-installed with Media Composer. Since they are QuickTime files, the native QuickTime AMA plugin works to read these.

You can do this in Resolve and add a LUT before baking the clips back out. I've done it. There are a few tutorials out there. So regardless of your Avid, which will do it with the Arri ama plugin (not sure the specific number) you can count on doing it in Resolve. You can then check the Resolve clips on your Avid system without having to battle in ama plugins that may or may not be missing.
