I would tell Zelin like I will tell you and explained above. There is not enough Avid work out there to justify it. There are no Avid four-wall suites to rent in my area. They are all FCP and PP. Maybe if you're staff in the large shops it makes all the sense in the world (and it's not your cash going out). For me and many others, it does not. As a one man shop, I do actually care about where $300 goes each year, even if I charged $100/hour. 7.0.4 is a solid release, a good offline editor and hopefully will be viable and compatible for a long time.
