Good points, but then I find it difficult to complain about Avid being slow in development when they are still using man-hours/dollars sending out patches for software that is two or three major versions old. Perhaps because Avid was so closed for so long they are paying the price.
As far as the plug-ins go, I feel it's better to let the user customize their system (and pay the 3rd party folks what they charge) as needed rather than depending on Avid bundling everything all the time along with being pressured to lower prices at the same time. Build a solid, base MC and then let the user decide what they need to add on. Tough effin' business they are in....
