Thank you Wilson. That is exactly what I was looking for. I had no particular reason to believe that my USB3 drives were not performing as expected relative to my eSATA and FW800 drives. But I thought I should ask. I did have some suspicious behavior that triggered the question, but I had no particular reason to suspect USB3 other than the drive at the time happened to be USB3 and I have had little experience editing with USB3.
USB2 had issues with sustained throughput that made them a poor choice for editing. I was wondering is USB3 had any such issues. I have no reason to believe that it does, but I thought I check the wisdom of the L.
