I've noticed this too - I just kept turning off D1 on the source so I wouldn't cut it in.
I bet unlink/modify/relink would work too, I just didn't have time for that in the cut I was making. On Thu, Jun 19, 2014 at 10:12 PM, Michael Brockington brocking@sfu.ca [Avid-L2] <Avid-L2@yahoogroups.com> wrote:
No idea -- as far as I can tell, you need outboard hardware to display anything from the data track. If you know of a way to get at it through software, I'd be curious to know too.

What is contained in the data track?

I have a lot of 4K F55 material on my current project, brought in via AMA.
All the clips show a data track in the bin -- 'Tracks' column reads "V1 A1-8 D1". Haven't had any problem cutting them into a sequence. Mac MC/symphony v.7.0.4

I have a client that is having problems with some media that I believe was shot on a Sony F5 at 4K to an external recorder. I'm told this is the only way to record the 4K while the camera simultaneously records 1080P to the Cam's SxS card. Apparently the 4K files from the external recorder show a Data Track on the source clip and they are getting errors trying to edit this material into a sequence. I haven't had time to look at the actual problem but I suggested maybe they could modify the tracks on the source clip eliminating the Data track before consolidating to dnx 36 for offline. I've never seen material that shows a data track on the source side other than a sequence. Can anybody shed some light on this? They are running Ver. 7 on mac platforms.
