Everyone needs a half height 19 inch rack it's just the right thing to do.
Plus they come with wheels which is great as you get older for plugging things in.

It's looking more and more like I need to get a small 19" side rack. Get clean power, and put in a few other things. And yes, I know about the Denon's. I have a pair. One in the living room, and one in my theater room. But again, I have powered monitors and so connecting to the Denons isn't really practical. Unless you know something I don't about connecting powered monitors to it... Or are you talking about something different than me? Do you have a link?

Of course I could push this through a clean mixer. That would give me level control.Exactly. But a mixer with 5.1 outs (or with enough bus outs to route 5.1 to), is rather big, and not necessarily as cheap as the Denon amp, let alone the monitor control boxes I referenced.
And I did mention that the Denon amp has built in audio delay options, right? You'll need audio delay if you use ANY modern video display, as they all have input lags. 6-channel audio delays can get expensive. One of the cheapest options is the Behringer Shark DP110, of which you then would need 6, plus cabling, etc. A mixer with a 6-channel on-board delay or a monitor controller plus a separate 6-channel delay are likely all going to be more expensive than the Denon pre-pro.
Just saying.
