Re: [Avid-L2] Re: What wattage UPS should I get for small MC workstation?

he was talking GUI monitor - without which you cannot shutdown properly.
Also don't forget to put your mojoDX/nitrisDX on the ups as they are pci-e devices

Thanks Dom,
I'm not too worried about the monitor and audio etc. I don't need to keep working if the power goes off, I just want the machine to automatically and safely shut down by itself. So a UPS with USB control would be good.

I am currently working at home and the RCD's in the domestic switchboard are prone to tripping at the slightest provocation (UK 240v and we have some building work going on at the moment). It has happened a few times over the last week without the MC workstation suffering in anyway, but the last time it happened the bin I was working on got corrupted and my xml user settings got corrupted. Luckily the attic contained a backup of the bin and I had an old set of user settings I could restore. I do also do a full incremental backup of all my media every night as well as a remote backup of my project  (so don't anybody go lecturing me on that front). This is purely to stop the machine coming to any harm when the electrician switches everything off without telling me.
