When things get whacky I've found trashing MC state file sometimes corrects strange behavior. I've also had the .avs folder in a particular project contribute to whacky issues and trashing it has helped. Save the files somewhere harmless just in case but Avid should rebuild them. I had lost the ability to batch digitize without aborts on capture when manually setting up the same capture worked. A trash of the .avs and it worked correctly, go figure. Sometimes trying a new project might eliminate the issue which is how I stumbled on the aforementioned fix.
