Did you uninstall the BMD video desktop software and reinstall after installing Avid. I've been burned on earlier Avid versions when somebody upgraded Avid to V7 after I had the system working correctly with Avid 6.5. Until I ran the BMD desktop video uninstall and then reinstalled it, all done after Avid 6.5 was reinstalled on the mac pro the system wouldn't work. Just reinstalling the video desktop software didn't work so I ran the uninstall on the BMD desktop. The BMD uninstall is available on the install disk image not on the system drive like Avid does. The fact that the other software works is not an indication that the video desktop was properly installed into Avid. If you didn't install it after Avid. Try an uninstall and reinstall then check Avid.
