Re: [Avid-L2] Multicam Question

Thanks John. Exactly the kind of info I was looking for.

It should be doable if you have fast storage.  You will likely have to go to yellow/green mode on the timeline (lower resolution) for steady playback.

I routinely do 6 cameras on much slower quad and 8 core HP workstations with older Unity storage (not ISIS) at DNX 120, 145 and 175.  Have not tried 220.

You will probably not be able to do that on a single drive, or a 2 disk G-RAID.  Something more substantial will be required for good performance.  Storage bandwidth will be the determining factor, not your CPU.  GPU is not relevant on the Mac.

Morning everyone,

I haven't done any multicam for years so I need help.
A producer intend to shoot four cameras at DNX175 and edit in multicam mode at DNX175 on a MacPro 12 core.
Is it doable?

Thanks,

Marcel
