[Avid-L2] BCC 5.0.4 Render issue in 1080i goes away in 1080P?

SNDX 5.0.3.7, MacPro 3.1 8 Core 14 Gigs Ram OS 10.6.8
I'm in a 1080i/59.94 project and I have DNX220X media.  There is BCC 5.0.4 on the system.  There is a freeze frame with BCC Tritone effect nested inside BCC Film Damage.  When I go to render the film damage effect I get the follow error message:

"Unable to find 16bit Lib, 5.5.3.7 Edit_7 Nitris 10.#2:Library:Application Support:BprosFX:Lib:BCC5AVX:BitDepthSupport:BCC_16bitbundle"

If I step in and render the tritone effect I do not get the error and the render happens as usual.  Stepping out I still get the render error on the Film Damage effect.  If I toggle the project to 1080P/29.97 I can render the effect without the error and then switch back to 1080i and everything plays fine.  The source material is DNX220X from DVCProHD tapes captured in a 1080i project.  Anybody got any reason for this behavior.  I know I've posted about this error message before but IIRC I thought it was because of DNX 220X vs. DNX 220 media but that was just a guess back then.  This project was originally offlined with the same Version of BCC 5.0.4 and Avid 5.5.x on macs.
