Re: [Avid-L2] RE: [Semi-OT] Resolve-Avid roundtrip crazyness

Sorry for the dupe, accidentaly I sent the first message from my gmail acc, then resent from yahoo.

Maybe I'm missing something at the AAF export point. I render the files using the built in AAF roundtrip preset. I only changed codec, path, file suffix (instead of prefix), and 50 frame handles. I rendered directly into avid MXF folder, gave a number (based on the episode). Right after render I went to the edit tab, right click on the timeline and made an AAF export (not generate new AAF). Is there something else to "export an AAF that matches"?

When I generate new AAF it works, but I loose the effects...

Greets,
Joe

Hmm... It doesn't sound like you are doing this right, unless I'm misunderstanding the steps you are taking. Normally you render clips as MXF and export an AAF that matches. Move this folder of rendered MXF media into one of the Avid MediaFiles/MXF folders and rename it with a number. Launch Symphony and import the AAF. It should automatically link to the rendered/graded media without any need to invoke any relinking.
