Avid Media Composer v7.0.2 (Mac and PC) and NewsCutter 11.0.2 (PC) maintenance updates will launch publicly on the Download Center today, Tuesday, September 10th at 4:00 pm ET.
Who is Eligible:
Customers running v7.0.x/v11.0.x are eligible to download and install these maintenance updates.
AMA Plug-In's:
There is a new RED Plug-in for use with v7.0.2/v11.0.2. The new RED plug-in v1.9.1 has been posted to the Knowledge Base. To ensure compatibility with Media Composer 7.0.2 or NewsCutter 11.0.2 you will need to install updated AMA plugins except the AVCHD plug-in which installs with MC. Important v7.0.2/v11.0.2 changes and fixes:
The v7.0.2/v11.0.2 maintenance releases have both changes and fixes. All customers should also be encouraged to download and scan the ReadMe so they know what is changed and fixed.
Important Notes:
It is recommended that customers uninstall their existing editing application versions before installing the new v7.0.2 or v11.0.2.
Windows users:
To avoid "File Path too long" or a "File cannot be copied" warning while unzipping the downloaded installer, place the installer .zip file on the root level of your C:\ drive and unzip it from that location.
