Re: [Avid-L2] Decklink and MC 7

I was also considering the Decklink cards but have read a lot of reports
like this which have really put me off. I am now considering either
the AJA Kona LHi or maybe the Matrox mx02 LE.

Has anyone tried the mx02 LE?.

We had decklinks with 6.5.3 and 9.7.5 drivers and really for offline editing
editors were complaining about trim in particular being way too slow, and
significantly different compared to AJA with Nitris being the best. Also I
think somewhat more unreliable especially when switching applications.

We moved our decklinks to less edit intensive place and they work well
enough then. And you get a lot of IO for your money.

It would be interesting to see whether v7 has any improvement. I didn't see
anything in the release notes though.

I'm swapping around some computers and want to add another seat of Resolve
in the tower with one of our Media Composers, but DON'T want to add an
expansion chassis (or a Nitris, for that matter.) Resolve requires a
decklink card, so that forces my hand with to use BMD open IO instead of AJA
Open IO. (My current config only uses the BMD for Resolve - the Symphony
uses a Nitris.)

There was some traffic a few weeks about about poor performance.

Anyone else want to opine on using BMD Decklink instead of AJA (IO Express
or Kona) with Media Composer? Good or bad, please.
