[Avid-L2] Canon C300 Footage with 1:1:1:2 Cadence on ama link with AVCHD Codec?

Had toDX 6.0.1.1 today to ama link to some supposedly Canon C300 footage.  I loaded the AVCHD ama plugin and I can link to the footage although scrubbing and overall performance is sluggish it's there.  I'm exporting cropped to 4x3 from the 16x9 master clips.  Funny thing the Cadence is 1:1:1:2.  This seems like some form of pulldown but I don't know what they were intending in the field.  Usually they shoot with 2:3 pulldown on things for the film feel.  I'm not familiar with the Camera as we normally shoot with a Canon 5D at SD resolution.  Is this some new fangled Cadence or a feeble attempt at shooting a 24 frame look on the camera?

Also my AE original did this on a V. 6 mcsoft and he says he only loaded the AVCHD ama plugin.  Is that possible?  I see the Canon ama plugin for C300 and C306 etc....   Why wouldn't he need that to ama link to Canon C300 footage?
