First, you guys are right. My chart is based on the theoretical maximums of the connections, not any real world benchmarks like the AJA or BMD disk drive tests.
Second, with USB3 or Thunderbolt you will see lower transfer rates if you are using the bus for power. This isn't really talked about but it can be a pretty big performance hit. Or if you look at it the other way, using an AC Adapter will significantly increase your throughput.
Third, here are the benchmarks that G-Tech was using when discussing the products at NAB:
GRAID USB 3 benchmarks at about 200 MB/sec.
GRAID T-Bolt is almost double that at almost 400.
The new G-Drive Pro thunderbolt drive that G-Tech was showing at NAB benches in at up to 480.

Yup; looks like Videoguys have accidentally unearthed a USB3 connection that is forty times faster than the ones everyone else has.
My understanding is the USB 3 is (theoretically) capable of transfers up to 0.625 GB/s
But my question is still outstanding. Are there any REAL WORLD raid arrays with a USB3 connection that deliver more than a fifth of that? If there are I have not found them yet.
I have not experimented to see if it is the chipset in the host PC or the RAID unit but one of them is shit.

"B" is BYTES and "b" is bits, it's constantly transposed.

I hate always having to second guess the B vs. b representing Byte vs. bits. Seems some apps don't respect the nomenclature and are very inconsistent in their displays. Am I missing something here?
