[Avid-L2] Activity Monitor shows Avid Symphony at 1,000 to 1,234 % CPU?

So now that I've got my transcode flying through Avid I checked the activity monitor and Symphony is using from 975 to 1,250 % CPU.  I would interpret that 1,200 % as indicating all 12 cores of my mac pro are running.  Is that what allows for over 100% CPU in Activity monitor.  Given how fast the transcode is happening that's what I'm led to believe.  Can anyone confirm my interpretation of the Activity monitor?  Also I've done nothing like making Qmaster clusters or whatever the proper term is.  I'm just transcoding in Avid.
