[Avid-L2] best dvd quality possible

It seems to be an ongoing search to find the best combination of software to get the best quality dvd from my avid timeline. I have Sorenson, compressor, Adobe Media Encoder, I use DVD studio pro and Adobe Encore. But I am never quite happy with either titles or motion or something. I am always working with 1080 and going to SD DVD. Clients never want Blu Ray. Today for instance, the lower thirds look crisp, yet my opening title created in AE (16bit project) white titles moving over black, look pixelated and just not crisp. I export my timeline as prores 422, then take to compressor and also encoded in Squeeze but the squeeze version did not have smooth motion on the action. So Compressor was the one to go with, but then the title looks a little pixelated. Has anyone found the right combo of codecs, encoders and burners to make really good quality DVDs? Or even a really good preset for Compressor or Squeeze that would help keep quality up. I admit that compression is not my thing so I am looking for a good recipe.

thanks
