Ahh, the decline of deadlines. When I started at TV stations, if the film wasn't in the soup 1 hour before start of the news, it wasn't going to be on. Advent of 3/4" cut that to being in the edit bay by 30 min before start. Now what is it, upload your ifootage live??

Now there's a machine I totally hated... When I was editing news on those
junker's at KATC in Lafayette, Louisiana I would hum the song "Slip sliding
away...
And to show my age I cut news pkg's on BVU-200's and always made slot...
