Hi Ken,
I had that problem a few years ago. Just as the drive was going out of warranty. I called the company and they said to send it back. I did and they fixed it and sent it back with all the media intact. At this point I have about 10 of the drives now and never had another problem. So at least they do (or did) stand behind the product.
John is right about trying a different power supply. Sometimes that works.
