[Avid-L2] Re: Project and media not reading off ext Hard drive

Thanks for the feedback guys. I use Macdrive all the time, but only really within my own PC system and I've never had any problems. But this is the first time that I have used it to consolidate files to a Mac formatted drive to be used on another system - so your explanation does make some sense.
However, the smaller USB drive was also Mac formatted and that worked fine - so I am wondering if it was some combination of MacDrive, eSata and Lacie 3Tb chipset?
I agree though that the safest suggestion is to consolidate to an NTFS drive and then copy on the desktop.

Thanks again.

I email him my backed up copy of the project and that opens fine but none of the media is linked and the Mac isn't seeing the Media on the 3Tb. Ok, trash the databases and rebuild except Avid then wants to quarantine all of the MXF mediafiles.

I verified the 3Tb drive on my Mac laptop and it said it was perfect, but I can only think that there was some weird Mac/PC file structure mismatch thing going on which I have never come across before.
