Would it be possible for Avid to require the offline editor who cuts in a motion effect that requires a half hour or more to up rez to do the up rez themselves? It should also make sure that during the first attempt at batch capture the clip will ingest the entire half hour or more only to abort at the last few frames because the handles extend beyond the actual clip after decompose. I would go so far as to suggest that when an offline editor even attempts to cut in such a clip at anything other than full resolution the clip should not play back. I think this will reduce the use of unnecessary motion effects quite rapidly. Please be sure to enable your sarcasm filter. Meanwhile back to one hell of a long consolidation process. ;-_)
