[Avid-L2] Meridien OMF files?

 

I have an old project that was partially edited long ago on a Meridien Symphony system, one that would be a pain to get up and running again.

I have copied a lot of what were supposedly OMF audio files from there and am trying to open them in more recent software, including FCPX and Adobe Audition CS6, both of which supposedly read OMF audio files. Downloading the Media Composer 6.5 demo to try, too.

But when I try to open them I am told the container contains no audio, despite the fact some of the files are quite large.

Is there something I am missing here? Any hints greatly appreciated.
