I do a video mixdown as part of my deliver process. I did want to check the
quality, and I've compared the master sequence and result mixdown in every
way I can and there is no sign at all of differences. I don't deal with
ProRes at all, but doing other exports from the mixdown, or exporting a QT
Ref is quick.
I haven't tested personally, but I've heard that some people find that
taking a QT Ref into Quicktime Pro and "flattening" the movie is quicker
than doing an Avid Same-as-Source export of the same. YMMV?
